About Ally

Poor Ally came into the shelter after being rescued running scared in the roads. She is so sad in the shelter, and we’re sure that she has previously come from a home as she is just desperate to be with people and out of her kennel. She cries to be let out and she’s just so unhappy.

Ally shares her kennel with another dog and although she seems to enjoy his company, it’s clear that humans are her first love. She is content around other dogs, happily to walking alongside them when outside the shelter and sharing her space with them, but we feel she would be fine either with or without a resident dog to live with.

At the moment because Ally is so stressed in the shelter, she just begs to be let out of her cage. When you go in and sit with her she calms down and she melts into your arms, but she’s definitely one of our dogs who is struggling in the confines of a cage more than most. During the day she sits and stares out of the bars as though she’s waiting for someone. Whoever she belonged to before, she misses them, but no one has come looking for her.

Ally is most likely a mix of German Shepherd and Malinois, so she’s an active, intelligent and very loyal girl. She needs a home with a stimulating lifestyle to keep her mind active and engaged. She will benefit from some training with her new owner, which will also help to build a strong and devoted bond, and she would also love to be included in family adventures. Shepherds have good stamina, so long hikes and camping holidays will be no problem for a dog like Ally - she’d love it!

Ally’s ideal home would have a garden where she can let off some steam and stretch her legs, but even if her garden is small as long as she’s based outside of the city surrounded by plenty of places to explore, she’ll be happy. We have no doubt that she will be so loyal to her new family, but she may have some separation anxiety to overcome due to her abandonment based on her behaviour in the shelter. With patience, reassurance, routine and consistency this is something that can be overcome, and who can blame her for feeling worried after experiencing being dumped before?

Ally is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
