About Milo

Milo was found wandering the streets with another dog who was adopted quickly, but unfortunately poor Milo was left behind and is still waiting to be noticed. Yet another black dog who seems to be overlooked, we try to convince ourselves that ‘black dog syndrome’ doesn’t exist, but it really does.

Milo is a young and very friendly boy who believes everybody is his friend. He’s a great socialiser and mixes really well with other shelter dogs. He has learned to walk nicely on the lead and he now loves his walks each day with the volunteers. He’s always ready and raring to go, and would definitely benefit from a fairly active lifestyle with adopters who enjoy being outdoors.

Milo gets so excited to meet new people and will jump around in his kennel like a little kangaroo. He is an athletic dog and can jump quite high, and although he’s never shown any desire to try and escape he would definitely need a home with a secure garden to minimise any risk. But we’re fairly confident that once Milo navigates his new home and has bonded with his family, he’ll never want to leave.

Milo is only around 18 months old so is still a young dog and is very keen to learn new things. He knows if he sits beautifully he’ll be fussed over and he looks very proud when you tell him he’s a good boy. He would definitely love some basic training, and not only would this instil some good manners but it would build a really strong bond with his new family. He’s a clever boy, despite his goofy behaviour at times, and would do great with some introductory training classes.

Milo gets on well with other dogs and is a playful, rough and tumble kind of guy, but would be more than happy to be homed on his own. He’s a confident and people oriented dog and would be quite happy living as the only resident dog. He has not been tested with cats, but he has been around older children and we think he would be suitable for a home with kids aged 8+. He’s super affectionate with everyone he meets so he’d be more than happy to have little human friends as well as big human friends.

Milo is seeking a home outside of the city with an active lifestyle. A home with a garden would be his preference, and as mentioned, some time and focus to his ongoing training and socialisation. Milo is super affectionate and has spent a lot of time in the shelter being overlooked, so we’re excited for someone to see him and fall in love - he deserves it.

Milo is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.

Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
