About Shiloh

We’re looking for a foster home for Shiloh to allow him to travel to the UK on the 12th January with his brother, Rufus, who’s been adopted. The other littermates have already been adopted and left the shelter, and we don’t want Shiloh to get left behind on his own. Finding him a UK foster home will improve his chances of being adopted, so if you can help, get in touch!

Shiloh, Smoky, Spencer, Rufus and Tyler were rescued along with their gorgeous mum, Sally, as the family were living as strays. We think they had probably survived on the outskirts of a small village for a while, but eventually the dog warden was called to come and collect them, and take them to the local municipal shelter.

Shiloh gets involved in all the fun and games when meeting new people and jumping up to say hi, but when the initial excitement has subsided he is the more calm and composed of the litter. Shiloh will often take himself off to decompress when it gets a bit much and although a typical playful pup, he self-regulates really well. He is definitely leggy and will be a bit of a model as an adult, but can squish himself into the tiniest little doughnut to cuddle with his brothers and stay cosy in the cooler evenings. Although he can sometimes be a little apprehensive with completely new people, once he sees you being kind to his brothers and playmates, he knows it’s all okay. He’s a gentle, intelligent soul and as his confidence grows so does his silliness!

Being hound mix puppies, this litter will need active lifestyles with families who enjoy the outdoors and can offer a semi-rural surrounding area. Although confident when together, the pups will initially struggle once separated and we think they would do better outside the city. It doesn’t have to be in the middle of the countryside, but away from lots of noise and hustle and bustle would be best for them.

The pups are now around six months old and have had no training, so adopters need to be prepared to start from scratch. They had a rough start in life, and so they need to be treated with kindness, respect and patience as they adjust to a companion lifestyle. They have never lived in a home before, and it will be a huge change for each of them.

We feel that all the pups could be adopted into homes with other dogs. They are sociable, friendly, curious and very fun-loving, so having a four legged playmate would be great for them. They are still in a nibbly and jumpy stage, typical of their age, and therefore might be better suited to children a little older (6+). The pups haven’t been tested with cats.

Shiloh is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.

Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
