Bambi was rescued by one of the founders of Slaughterhouse Survivors in Harbin, China. She was destined to be a meat trade dog but her fate was rewritten when she met Emily. Bambi was probably someone’s pet at some point, but she was dumped in front of a restaurant with her front leg completely broken into two pieces. When Emily met her she had a feeling that she wasn’t going to be able to say goodbye.

Bambi is now living her best life in Devon with Jay and Emily and her new sister Bonnie, who is also a meat trade survivor. Bambi’s calm and gentle nature encouraged Emily to consider her as an Underdog therapy dog, and her assessment went so well. She is a beautiful example of resilience and forgiveness - it’s a wonder that she has adjusted so well after all that she endured. Welcome to the team Bambi!
