Meet the little trooper that is Henry Wee Wheels! Henry was discovered in a government shelter in Shanghai in China in an appalling condition. His spine and legs were broken, he had open wounds on his body and he was unable to go to the toilet. He’d been left like that for two weeks before a volunteer noticed him, and that’s when his journey really began.

The volunteer knew there was no way that Henry would survive in that state and she contacted the amazing girls at Slaughterhouse Survivors in Harbin to see if they could help. Although they were 1600km away they said yes, and they hurried Henry over to begin his treatment. That’s when Sharon came across his story and fell in love with him via the SHS Facebook page.

SHS were criticised for not putting Henry to sleep, but there was no way they could give up on this little fighter. It was a tough few months whilst Henry recovered but before he knew it he was travelling across the world all the way to Northern Ireland where Sharon was waiting for him with open arms!

Henry’s spinal chord is severed, so he can’t walk without a wheelchair, but with his wheels there is absolutely no stopping him! Henry moves at lightening speed and loves to zoom around the place. Ever since he arrived in his forever home he has been spreading joy to everyone he meets. He is a regular in local schools, he’s always out and about fundraising for important charities, and everyone who meets him absolutely adores him. Henry is a true example of a survivor.
