Donald’s story

Donald was looking for an urgent foster home as his previous new home had fallen through. The moment we saw his little face on Underdog’s instagram we just knew he was the dog for us. We couldn’t pick him up straight away as we were actually on holiday but the whole Underdog team were amazing in finding him a temporary foster home until the day we flew back. Alex, one of the volunteer behaviourists, was incredible in giving us such great advice- she actually called us while we were still on holiday prepping us with lots of suggestions for when we picked him up. The whole process was seamless and we can’t thank the whole team enough for bringing us and Donald together.

Donald is the most wonderful dog and a truly fabulous member of our family. Everyone that meets him instantly asks to look after him and he spends so much time on adventures with our friends and neighbours who all adore him. Donald is brilliant with children and really matches their energy; either running around like a loon or sitting quietly letting them stroke his ears. He has such an infectious energy. Who would have thought that a dog who had such a horrible start to his life would end up being as happy and as friendly as Donald is!

Our whole experience with Underdog has been eye-opening as to how adopting a rescue is really the best thing you can do! Having Donald has transformed our lives for the better and we can’t remember what life was like without him.
