Kiara’s story
I adopted Kiara in August 2022 after a family member sent me her bio. She had had a litter of puppies who had all been adopted before her and I instantly fell in love with her and knew I had to rescue her!
After submitting an application and having a home check, Underdog were super helpful in ensuring I had all the correct information and checking our lifestyles would match.
I drove to pick her up from her foster family in the UK who were so kind and gave us a load more information about her personality and tips to settle her in better. She was a little nervous in the first day or two, hesitant to eat and keeping to herself for the most part. However, with lots of treats and quiet company I was astonished by how fast she settled in and came out of her shell.
I now couldn't imagine life without her- she loves our daily walks in the countryside but spends most of the day lounging in the sun and relaxing with me while I work. Kiara is my first dog so it's definitely been an adjustment to the structure of day-to-day life, however I couldn't have possibly asked for a more perfect dog for me. She was clearly socialised well before coming to us as she is kind and gentle with cats and children, and everyone that meets her falls in love straight away. The biggest challenge is keeping her from chasing the lambs in spring!!
I'm so glad I decided to rescue a dog and choose Underdog- they were amazing in providing all of the information I needed to know it was the right decision and right dog for me.
