About Buzz

Buzz is just a baby, and he has already come a long way in a short time. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was frightened, withdrawn, and clearly overwhelmed. He had been found alone as a stray with no sign of siblings or a mother, and it was clear that life had already been difficult for him. He was only a couple of months old at the time and what a shock it must have been to have found himself lost and alone.

In those early weeks, Buzz relied heavily on the presence of other dogs to feel safe. He found comfort in their company, slowly learning that the world wasn’t such a scary place. With time, routine, and support from the other shelter residents and volunteers, he has begun to come into his own. Now, he’s a playful, curious and affectionate young dog who enjoys meeting new people and exploring his surroundings.

Buzz is still young, and while we expect he’ll grow into a medium sized adult, he currently has a slim, athletic build and may end up slightly on the smaller side for a Shepherd mix. Whatever his final size, it’s his character that really shines. He’s friendly, gentle and a little cheeky in the best way!

Buzz gets on very well with other dogs and would be particularly happy in a home with a resident dog to learn from and play with. That said, he could also thrive as the only dog in a calm, consistent household with people who are patient and willing to help him continue building confidence.

Given his more sensitive beginning, Buzz would do best in a home outside the city, where things are quieter and more predictable. Access to a secure garden and nearby green spaces for leisurely walks and the chance to explore would be ideal. He could live with children, though we feel a home with slightly older kids would suit him best, as sudden or unpredictable movement might cause him to retreat a little.

Buzz is a sweetheart with a great nature and he has such a lot to offer. With continued guidance and positive experiences, he will grow into a well rounded, sociable and loyal companion. He’s made huge progress already, he just needs the chance to keep moving forward in a home of his own. Please don’t let him grow up in the shelter.
