About Arya
Arya is a striking tricolour hound mix with a big personality and a very loving nature. Estimated to be just under a year old, Arya arrived at the shelter at the end of 2024 as a stray, but she has settled in beautifully and is now ready to find a home of her own. With her sleek frame, intelligent eyes, and boundless energy, Arya is a real head-turner, both in looks and personality.
Arya is a very social and confident young dog who thrives on human company. She shares her kennel compound with four other dogs and gets along really well with them, but would also be more than happy to be homed as the only resident dog. She definitely gravitates towards dogs with a similar energy level to her, and loves nothing more than a good chase around the yard. She’s always up for a bit of fun and is a very happy go lucky girl who just wants to be involved.
Arya is great with people and loves being around the volunteers. She is trusting and outgoing, eagerly greeting visitors to the shelter with a wagging tail and a big smile. She thrives on affection and enjoys being the centre of attention, making her a wonderful companion for a family looking for a friendly and affectionate dog.
Being a hound mix, Arya has a keen nose and an active mind. She would particularly flourish in a home that can offer her both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She also shows potential as an excellent candidate for activities such as agility, scent work, or man-trailing, where she can put her natural abilities to good use. A clever and inquisitive girl, Arya would benefit from some basic training, and with her eager to please nature, she’s sure to pick things up quickly.
Arya is a balanced and self assured dog, and we think she has the type of nature that will allow her to adapt to a more urban setting, provided she has access to green spaces to explore and run. She would of course be very happy in a semi-rural location though too. Ideally, she would love a home with a garden, so she has space to play and burn off some of her energy throughout the day.
With her affectionate nature, playful personality, and intelligence, Arya would make a fantastic addition to an active household. She would be well suited to a family with children, and is more than ready to become a loyal companion. Could she be the one for you?
Arya is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
