About Jack
Jack was rescued in the summer of 2024 when he was found running through the fields dragging a massive chain behind him. He had escaped from a nearby farm where he’d been living outside his whole life, and the farmer had no interest in taking him back so he was surrendered to a local kennels.
Jack is around 3-4 years old and is a beautiful dog. He’s around the size of a springer spaniel and has the softest coat. He currently shares a kennel with Cooper, and the pair of them get along without issue, but Jack would also be absolutely fine on his own. He’s confident, trusting, great with new people and very keen to please. He loves a cuddle and if you crouch down, he’ll put his paws on your shoulders and snuggle into you for a fuss. Whether he’s known you for five minutes or five years, he’s always happy to share his affectionate nature.
Jack loves a treat and would definitely respond well to some training. He’s smart and certainly has his wits about him, so with some direction he could learn new things quickly. He’s also a mix of all sorts of breeds, but evidently clever and active ones, so he would be best suited to a family who enjoy being outdoors and are looking for a dog that can keep up with them. Because Jack has likely never been inside a proper home before, we think it might take a little time for him to adjust, but as he’s so people focused we don’t think it will take him long to get to grips with a new way of life.
When outside in the paddock, Jack loves to have a run about and stretch his legs. He also likes to follow his nose and enjoys scenting games and scatter feeding. He plays well with other dogs, but can get a bit overwhelmed if he’s jumped on continuously - fair enough - so a home with a very hyperactive resident dog would be a bit much for him.
Jack would be best suited to a fairly active home based semi-rurally. He doesn’t seem phased by cars going past the kennels, but it is quite a quiet road. He doesn’t however really like horses and will bark at them. Jack would prefer a home with a garden as he’s always had outdoor access, and we feel he could live with children aged 6+ based on his temperament.
Jack is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
