About Kali
Kali is around a year old and came to the shelter as a stray after being picked up by the dog warden. She has settled into the shelter with ease and now lives alongside a pack of five dogs in her kennel compound. Based on her appearance, we think Kali is a Shepherd mix and she has a very confident, playful and sweet character. She would undoubtedly make an excellent companion.
Kali is very people focused and loves making new friends. She is always keen to greet volunteers, both those she knows and new visitors, and she is super friendly. She loves rolling around in the dust when she gets zoomies and is also a real sucker for a good belly rub. She is quite happy just chilling beside you, she doesn’t have to be kept busy all the time, she just loves human company.
Kali is a medium sized girl and based on her breed type we are looking for a moderately active lifestyle for her. She loves a good run around and she also enjoys going out for a long walk too, so a family who likes being out and about would be ideal for her. Kali is a confident dog and could cope in a more busy surrounding area, but she would be best suited to a home with direct access to a garden. She’s also a clever dog, although she’ll have you easily fooled considering how much of a goon she can be at times, and she would really enjoy some training with her new family. She loves nothing more than being told she’s a good girl and she picks up new things quickly.
As Kali shares her kennel at the moment we know she has no issues living alongside other dogs. She even lives with some quite boisterous characters who have no concept of personal space, and she never gets frustrated at them, she just walks away if it gets a bit too much. She is an emotionally intelligent dog and reads the room well.
Kali is a very affectionate girl and would love the opportunity to cuddle on the sofa as much as she would like to go out for long walks. She forms strong bonds with people and a very sociable, people oriented girl. She could definitely live with resident dogs but it’s not compulsory and we think she would do just fine on her own. However, socialisation opportunities such as group dog walks or day-care would be great for Kali and she would really benefit from interacting with other dogs regularly if she doesn’t live with them.
Kali can be bouncy, so we would recommend that a home with slightly older children would be better (6+), but she honestly means no harm. She is highly trainable and in a loving home with routine, consistency and patience, we’re sure that she is going to flourish.
Kali is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
