About Zaira

Zaira arrived in the shelter after the dog warden found her wandering through the streets without a collar. A quick check showed that, no surprise, she didn’t have a microchip. Despite efforts to advertise her as found in case someone was missing her, no one came forward to collect her.

Zaira is around two years old and has the most beautiful eyes. When she first arrived in the shelter she was very suspicious and unsure of everyone around her. It took a few weeks for her hesitance to subside, but now she’s feeling much more calm and settled. She now shares a kennel run with a number of other dogs, both males and females, and she gets along well with them all. She is quite a quiet girl with a gentle, balanced temperament, and even when there’s a lot going on around her she tends to be very calm and considered.

Zaira socialises well with other dogs but doesn’t appear to depend on them, and so we think she would suit a home either with or without other resident dogs. She is very patient and tolerant of other dogs of completely different energy levels to her, but ultimately she would prefer to live alongside a dog with a more balanced nature than a super energetic one.

Given some 1-2-1 attention and training, we think Zaira will form a really loyal, loving bond with her new adopters. She’s a very good girl and she would be a great addition to a household with an easygoing atmosphere. She has no issues with children, but would probably prefer older kids just so things are a bit more predictable, and she has not been tested with cats.

Zaira would be best suited to a home outside of the city where it’s a bit greener and more relaxed. She’d love a little garden of her own, and she’d suit  a moderately active lifestyle. Zaira doesn’t really ask for much, but we think her personality will really emerge in its full glory once she has a sense of belonging.

Zaira is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
