About Luther

Luther is part of a litter of six puppies born in the shelter to their mum Sally, a mixed-breed Hound/Lab. Now ready for rehoming, Luther is growing into a confident, playful young dog. He is expected to grow to a medium-large size and will need a home prepared for the responsibilities of raising an active, young dog.

Luther is a bright, gentle boy who adores meeting new people. He’s sociable, affectionate and quick to warm to just about everyone. He enjoys giving kisses, snuggling, and curling up in someone’s lap when things wind down. Though he’s usually shiny and sleek, he’s developed a love of rolling around in the dirt recently and often emerges looking like a soft toy that’s been salvaged from someone’s attic! He’s a curious boy but never pushy, and has a calm, friendly way of engaging with other dogs and new people.

Having never lived in a home before, Luther will need guidance as he adapts to a new routine. House training, lead walking and daily structure will all be new to him, so a calm and committed approach will help him settle. He’s sociable with other dogs and would enjoy a home where he has opportunities to continue interacting with them.

Because of his energy and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with children aged six and above. Luther would do best in a quieter, semi-rural environment, away from busy streets and with a secure garden where he can explore safely.

He will benefit from continued training and regular exposure to new experiences to help him become a confident, well socialised adult. He has so much potential to be an amazing family friend.
