About Lucia
Lucia is one of six puppies born to Sally, a Hound/Labrador mix who gave birth in the shelter. Now old enough to start the next chapter, Lucia is ready to leave shelter life behind. She is expected to grow into a medium to large sized adult and will need a home that can offer structure, time and continued training.
Lucia is always in the middle of things - curious, lively, and never too far from a bit of mischief. She has a playful habit of nibbling at her siblings’ tails to spark a game, and then dashing off to get them to chase her! She loves being involved, keeping an eye on everything that’s going on around her. On warmer days, she’ll often dig a little hole in the ground so she can make a nest in the cooler soil. Clever and cheeky in equal measure!
Lucia has never lived in a home before, so her introduction to life outside the shelter will be brand new. She will need understanding adopters who are prepared to help her adjust, introduce routines slowly and continue her social development. Like her siblings, she is friendly, playful and interacts well with both other dogs and people.
Because of her energy levels and growing size, we recommend a home with children aged six and above. Lucia would be best placed in a home outside the city, ideally with access to a garden and some green space. She’s used to quiet surroundings and may find busy roads or urban noise overwhelming at first.
Lucia will thrive with adopters who have time to invest in her training and who can offer her consistent opportunities to socialise, explore and grow into a balanced and sociable adult dog.
