About Mellow

Mellow is an affectionate, playful young dog, estimated to be around one year old, who was sadly abandoned in a public pound along with his brother. Although we don’t know what his early life looked like, what we do know is that he is now safe, loved and thriving in our care. He is now ready to find his forever home!

Mellow is similar in size to a Labrador and currently weighs around 22kg. He has a sociable, sweet and charming personality, and his happy face and wagging tail are impossible not to fall in love with. He has an open, friendly nature and absolutely adores human company. Whether he’s leaning in for cuddles or lapping up attention from those around him, Mellow is happiest when he is close to people. He is a naturally submissive and easy-going dog who is happy to share the spotlight – but would never say no to being the centre of attention either!

Mellow is an active dog who would suit a family with an outdoorsy lifestyle. He really enjoys being outside, exploring on walks, and playing with other dogs. He’s also very sociable and thrives in canine company. At the shelter he loves playing in the yard with the other dogs and chasing after them! He also walks well on the lead and has learned not to pull, so taking him out is really enjoyable.

Due to his size and energy levels, we feel Mellow would be better suited to a home with slightly older children who are comfortable around larger, bouncier dogs. Mellow’s enthusiasm is always well intended, but his excited nature may be a bit much for younger children.

Mellow is not suitable for a home with cats as he loves the opportunity to chase them, however he would do very well in a home with another dog. He has lots of friends at the shelter and enjoys their company, but equally, as he’s a confident and human oriented dog, it’s not a necessity for him to be adopted alongside a resident pup. He would thrive on his own as long as he has plenty of human company too. He is the kind of dog who gives his whole heart to those he loves.

Loyal, affectionate and always wearing a smile, Mellow is ready to begin his next chapter! Hopefully this one will be far more positive than the last one, filled with love, adventure and the reassurance that he will never be left behind again.
