About Mud

Our charming boy, Mud, is a one year old beauty who has already stolen our hearts. Found as a stray on the streets of Cyprus, Mud was brought into the shelter by the local dog warden. With no microchip and no one coming forward to claim him, it’s likely that Mud was abandoned. He’s now safe and patiently waiting for the perfect family to find him.

Mud is a gentle soul with a vey sweet, loving nature. He adores people and is keen to please, but the busy, noisy shelter environment can sometimes overwhelm him. When you spend 1-2-1 time with Mud, his true personality really shines and he’s so silly, goofy and excitable. He relaxes, grows in confidence, and shows a very affectionate side. He absolutely loves cuddles and melts into your arms when you give him the attention he craves.

Currently, Mud shares his kennel with another male dog and is submissive and easygoing towards him. He avoids confrontation and opts for a peaceful life, happily letting his kennel mate take the lead. With sociable, friendly, and playful dogs, Mud thrives, so he’d be more than happy to share his home with another resident dog. He’d also adjust well as a solo dog, provided his new family offers him plenty of love and reassurance.

Mud’s endearing appearance is further emphasised by the factor he’s slightly cross-eyed. His vision has been checked by a vet, and there are no concerns, it’s simply part of his charm.

We feel that Mud would do best in a home that can give him the calmness he needs to initially adapt and decompress at his own pace. The shelter’s adrenaline-fuelled environment isn’t ideal for him, and a quieter setting will allow his personality to blossom. While Mud isn’t overly timid, sudden movements can sometimes make him flinch, which suggests he may have had a rough start in life. For this reason, we recommend a home with slightly older children (7+) who can be gentle and predictable.

Mud would love a home with access to a garden and plenty of nearby green spaces for walks. As a retriever type, he enjoys exploring and sniffing, and he’d thrive in a suburban or rural location. A busy city wouldn’t be the best fit for him, but he’d be more than happy in a quieter, family friendly area. He’d also enjoy an active lifestyle.

Once he’s settled into his forever home, we know Mud will be an incredible companion. His loving, cheerful nature and goofy charm will bring endless joy to the lucky family who welcomes him.

Mud is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.

Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
