About Peggy
Say hello to Peggy, a petite and super sweet hound mix who’s a real little charmer! Peggy came into the pound when she was found as a stray in Cyprus with no collar or microchip and, sadly, no one came forward to claim her. But this little black beauty is determined to turn her luck around and find a forever home where she can really become a part of the family.
Peggy is affectionate, playful, and eager to please. She adores humans and is happiest when she’s the centre of attention, whether it’s for a belly rub, an ear massage, or sitting politely at your feet whilst you chat to her as she gazes up at you. She’s such a sweetheart and loves being with people so much. She also enjoys meeting new people and making new friends, human or canine!
Each day the dogs are let out for a run and get to play with each other, and we have discovered that Peggy is a little whirlwind when excited! She darts around the place as fast as a bullet and loves being chased, zooming around as quickly as she can. She’s much faster than the other dogs and she knows it! She’s great with the other shelter residents and would be a brilliant playmate in a home with another pup to share her adventures. Peggy hasn’t met any cats yet, so we’re not sure how she’d feel about feline friends.
Peggy is already mastering her leash skills and is highly food motivated, which means treats are the ideal reward when training. She’s a clever girl who learns quickly. True to her hound mix heritage, Peggy is a curious dog who loves being outside, sniffing everything in her path and exploring her surroundings. She would prefer a fairly active lifestyle.
Her dream home would have a garden where she can zoom about, and although she’s confident with people and other dogs we think she’d do better on the outskirts of the city. Of course, she would also relish a life in the countryside if that was an option. We also feel Peggy would be suitable for a family home with children aged 4+. She’s a joy to be around and we think she’s going to bring so much fun into her new home.
Peggy is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
