About Sandy

Sandy currently resides in a very small municipal pound which until recently, has had no volunteers. The dogs are cleaned and fed once a day by municipal workers, but it’s a very poor quality of life for them to endure. Thankfully, we have recently partnered with a lovely group of girls who have started volunteering at the pound, which means the dogs finally have a chance at finding happiness.

Sandy is a funny little thing with a big personality. She has spent most of her life in the pound and was brought in as an unwanted puppy. Unfortunately she’s missed out on a lot of life experiences and socialisation during this time, so everything will be very new to her in a home environment. She’s only around a year old so is just a young girl and needs a family dedicated to training to help her learn what’s expected of her. As she’s also spent a year confined to a kennel she is also a bit of a coiled spring and is therefore looking for an active home with a garden.

Sandy is super people oriented and once settled in a forever home she will be so happy to finally experience a sense of belonging. She is a very sociable dog and she loves nothing more than being the centre of attention, so she would be more than happy being the only dog in the household. She does however get along well with the other dogs at the pound, but her energy can be a bit overwhelming for some of the more shy characters.

Sandy is a very short girl and we think she’s probably part French Bulldog, so she spends a lot of time on her back legs trying to get a bit closer and higher up to you. Everything she does is a little performance whether it’s getting ready for a walk or even visiting the vet - as far as she’s concerned the world is her stage and she is the main character. She is very confident and always so excited to meet new people, so she’s absolutely been loving the newfound attention that the group of volunteers have brought!

Sandy is a strong character and will need some initial training, but she is super loyal and loving towards those who show her kindness, so we think she will make an exceptional companion given the opportunity. She just wants to love and be loved.

Sandy is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
