About Simba

This beauty is Simba! He’s an energetic and confident young hound mix pup who arrived at the shelter after the dog warden picked him up as a stray. He’s just under a year old and he’s not only a beautiful dog to look at, he also has a golden personality and is such a good boy.

With his ever wagging tail and gorgeous bright eyes, it’s difficult not to notice Simba. He’s a charming character with a very friendly nature and he’s more than ready to bring lots of fun and adventure into a loving home. Simba adores people and craves connection, making him a wonderful addition to a lively household with a sociable lifestyle.

Simba is highly trainable and already shows promise by recognising when he’s being asked to ‘sit’, and in a high adrenaline shelter setting with loads of other dogs, that’s pretty impressive! His love for treats makes training sessions both fun and rewarding for him, and he loves being fussed over and told he’s a good boy. He plays well with other dogs, both male and female, and reads canine body language really well, ensuring he’s always a respectful of the space and communication of the other dogs. Whether he’s in the middle of playtime or snuggling up for a cuddle, Simba is always just so happy and has such a lovely enthusiasm about him which is hard not to fall in love with.

Simba would thrive in an active household where he can engage in lots of play, training, and affection. While he could live alongside other dogs as he does at present, it’s not essential, as he’s a confident boy which will allow him to flourish as a solo pet too. He’s also great with children and is comfortable being stroked, cuddled and picked up when required.

Simba would do best in a home outside of a busy city, ideally with access to a secure garden where he can play and explore. Being a hound, he will love exploring everything nose first and would love adventuring in the fields and countryside given the chance. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and lively addition to your home, Simba could be the pup for you!

Simba is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
