About Tyler
Tyler, Shiloh, Spencer, Rufus and Smoky were rescued along with their gorgeous mum, Sally, as the family were living as strays. We think they had probably survived on the outskirts of a small village for a while, but eventually the dog warden was called to come and collect them, and take them to the local municipal shelter.
Tyler is the most expressive of the group. He draws you in with his sad eyes and if you could, you’d take him home then and there. Tyler struggles a little bit in the large puppy yard he’s a part of at the moment and you can tell that he would prefer to be around less chaos and receive more 1-2-1 focus. He’s great with his brothers, but can be a little less tolerant with other more boisterous dogs if they don’t respect his space and will bark at them if he gets annoyed. Some dogs don’t respond well to a high adrenaline shelter environment (naturally) and Tyler would be much happier in a calmer setting. When you do get to give him some fuss on his own, Tyler loves it. He’s still a little shy with strangers but once he’s built up some trust he is such a sweetheart and so cuddly.
Being hound mix puppies, this litter will need active lifestyles with families who enjoy the outdoors and can offer a semi-rural surrounding area. Although confident when together, the pups will initially struggle once separated and we think they would do better outside the city. It doesn’t have to be in the middle of the countryside, but away from lots of noise and hustle and bustle would be best for them.
The pups are now around six months old and have had no training, so adopters need to be prepared to start from scratch. They had a rough start in life, and so they need to be treated with kindness, respect and patience as they adjust to a companion lifestyle. They have never lived in a home before, and it will be a huge change for each of them.
We feel that all the pups could be adopted into homes with other dogs. They are sociable, friendly, curious and very fun-loving, so having a four legged playmate would be great for them. They are still in a nibbly stage, typical of their age, and therefore might be better suited to children a little older (8+). The pups haven’t been tested with cats.
Tyler is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. He is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
