Chichi’s story

We lost our seventeen year old Westie in early 2023 and he left such a huge hole, especially in my life, that I couldn’t go very long without reaching out and giving a loving home to another doggie who perhaps hadn’t had the best luck in life. I stumbled across the Underdog website by accident one day and came across the picture of Chichi on their Adopt page; straightaway I liked the look and size of her and after reading her profile, she seemed a perfect fit for our quiet, easygoing life.

The process of rehoming Chichi was so simple - I was actually contacted by the lovely Bix the very afternoon I enquired about Chichi and she made the process so easy. The ball was started rolling straightaway and I was kept informed at each step, along with my partner who was also kept up to date.

Chichi was based in Northamptonshire and we reside in Essex. After our home check, all we had to do was make our way to the kennels where Chichi was being cared for. We loved her from the moment we met her, and we brought her back home tha very afternoon. Bix also helped us with the transport process, as we don’t drive. She was a massive help and cannot fault her or the charity in any way whatsoever.

Chichi loves life and it’s as though she has always lived here with us. She is funny, quirky, full of energy and has certainly livened the home up. She doesn’t miss a trick and loves the people closest to her; she trusts me, my partner, my family and also loves spending time with my mum and brother’s dogs. In fact, she pulls me there nearly every day on her lead just to spend time with them!

We could not have asked for a better doggie as a rescue and she has truly put a smile back on everyone’s face; she loves her walkies, loves her family and loves her life. And we love her too.
