Dennis’ story

We adopted Dennis in 2021 during one of the many Covid lockdowns. We were looking for a hypoallergenic dog to replace our much loved miniature schnauzer, Noodles, who sadly passed away a couple of years earlier. Our daughter suggested we contact Underdog International to adopt a rescue dog.

This we did and luckily they had a recently arrived miniature schnauzer who had been rescued from wandering the local streets. After passing Underdog's vetting procedure we finally welcomed Dennis into our home mid 2021 after a long and no doubt traumatic journey all the way from Harbin in China. Dennis quickly settled in to his new home aided by very helpful advice from Eve at Underdog and a local dog trainer.

We soon discovered that Dennis is remarkably food motivated and will easily learn new tricks or commands provided a plentiful supply of treats is made available. He is a very friendly dog who loves playing with humans and other dogs and enjoys the sound of his own voice, indeed he chats away quite happily at home to everyone and is not shy in letting us know he wants attention or even better, food!

His favourite activity is chewing our shoes as we go up and down the stairs accompanied by odd playful ankle nips on occasion. We quickly learnt not to walk around barefoot! Despite this odd little foible we all absolutely adore our pint sized friendly hooligan who has brought so much joy into our world.
