About Lucy
Lucy was rescued from the streets when she was pregnant. Her puppies swiftly found homes, but unfortunately she got left behind and has now been in the kennels for around two years. Lucy is estimated to be around seven years old, and is probably a beagle mixed with something else small - perhaps some kind of terrier. Whatever she is, Lucy is brilliant, and she’s looking for her forever home.
When you let Lucy out of her kennel to come and play in the paddock, she bolts out like a racehorse. She may but small but she’s speedy! As soon as she reaches you though, she screeches to a halt, sits at your feet and rolls over for a belly rub. She is very people focused and adores humans. She’s great with new people and very confident, so she could slot into most home environments quite successfully we feel.
Lucy is a little on the tubby side, but she’s actually quite energetic and if she had a more active lifestyle she’d be so up for that. She loves being outside and would definitely welcome a home with a little garden to run around in, but as long as she’s got some nearby green spaces or secure fields to let off steam, she’d also be happy. She’ll race around for a little while and then zoom over for a belly rub, and roll in the dirt, and then running around will resume. She’s such a character!
Lucy loves her treats and tries so hard to sit politely without getting too excited. She usually manages it on the third go and will sit very proudly with her little goblin ears at all angles. She can definitely be a little bit of a whirlwind at first, but it’s important to remember that she’s living in a kennel and has a limited routine right now. In a home with walks, training and constant company, it will be a very different story.
After her initial excitement has subsided, Lucy is very happy just pottering about in the paddock, sniffing around in the dirt, following people around to see what they’re up to, and minding her own business. She’s very easy to be around, and when she’s called back to her kennel she doesn’t need to be asked twice. She is very well behaved and quite content going back inside after she’s had her fun. So many of our photos of Lucy were blurry because she was wagging her tail so hard!
Lucy would welcome a moderately active lifestyle and a little garden. She could live either with or without other dogs, and she would benefit from some basic training but honestly, we think she will fit in really quite well in a short space of time. She could be homed alongside children aged 6+ based on her temperament, although she does jump up sometimes. She’d also be quite happy in an adult only home, as long as she’s showered with love (and treats!), Lucy will be having the time of her life.
Lucy is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
