About Melissa

This darling girl is Melissa. She was very lucky to be found as a stray on the beach by an animal loving family, who took her home as a foster rather than taking her to a shelter. Unfortunately, their home isn’t big enough for another dog so they can’t adopt her, but they’ve offered her a temporary foster home until she can find her perfect new family.

Melissa is only a baby and is estimated to be around five months old (DOB 01.08.2024). She is a Pointer type mixed breed, and at the moment she weighs 10kg, so she will definitely be a medium sized dog as an adult. She has the most adorable clumsy paws and wiggly body, and she’s just full of love. She absolutely loves cuddles and kind words.

Melissa is described as a very sweet and gentle girl. She is learning to settle into a companion lifestyle well and has already started to master lead manners, house training and she is also familiar with the car. She is also very friendly with other dogs and adores being in the company of the resident dogs in her foster home. This in mind she could definitely live alongside a canine friend.

Melissa is good with children and could be a lovely addition to a home with kids. However, she is still a puppy and puppies require plenty of time, training and commitment. Even though she’s had a good start with her foster home, her new family will need to continue with her socialisation and training, so if you’re a busy household with little ones, a puppy (even a very good one!) might not be the right choice.

Melissa would love a family home where she has lots of human company and fuss, a garden to potter around in, and to live in close proximity to parks and green spaces. Her confidence is improving each and every day, but a busy city centre would be quite overwhelming for her and the outskirts of town would suit her better. She is going to make a lovely companion as she grows up!

Melissa is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
