About Mike
Mike was rescued from the streets around eight months ago and was taken to the local municipal pound where unfortunately there are next to no staff, volunteers or resources. He has waited without any hope for eight months in a kennel, but has very kindly been offered a temporary foster home in Cyprus! Now we’re on a mission to find little Mike his forever home.
Mike is estimated to be around two years old and is a funny little mixed breed. He looks a bit like someone put a German Shepherd on a hot wash and out popped a miniature version. Despite his eight month stint in jail effectively, Mike is still so sweet, friendly and keen to be around humans. He’s definitely a little bit submissive, but we wouldn’t consider him to be a nervous dog and in time we think he would slot into a family so happily.
Mike is brilliant with both humans and other dogs. He lights up when he gets to play with other pups and is friendly towards every one that he meets. He would be happy to have a friend in a home, but could also adapt to being the only dog. He hasn’t shown very much interest or reactions towards cats, but we would still recommend he’s homed with confident cats only.
Mike is learning to walk nicely on the lead and loves being outside, sniffing about in the bushes and saying hello to everyone. He would suit a moderately active lifestyle, and after spending so much time without any exercise at all, we would prefer he is homed to a family with a garden, even if it’s only a small one. He is such a happy little guy now that he’s out of the confines of the pound and he just loves human interaction. He’s happy to be stroked, cuddled and picked up, and he has also been really gentle and affectionate towards children. We think he would be happy in a home with kids, even if they’re on the younger side, but 4+ would be preferable depending on experience.
He might be small but Mike and his heart of gold are going to make a huge impact on someone’s life and we can’t wait to see him get the family he truly deserves.
Mike has a clean bill of health and is ready to travel once he finds his forever home.
Please note, any mention of breed is nothing more than an educated guess based on what we know about the dog, their appearance, behaviour, and common breeds in their country of origin. We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth.
