Hilda entered Sue and David’s lives two years ago. A six year old rescue pug, who had been used for breeding. She was a shy girl, couldn’t walk very well and didn’t know the name she had gone under, so she became Hilda. Today, after the love and care given by her new ‘pawrents’ you wouldn’t recognise her as the sad, little dog who landed on their doorstep.

She loves people, especially children, who she seems to gravitate towards. When David said he was taking her to see if she would make a good therapy dog, Sue wasn’t sure she would be able to respond to the training…how wrong she was! Hilda was a star during training and passed with flying colours. She is now an important and valued member of the Underdog Team and we couldn’t be more delighted to have her.

Hilda is incredibly excited to start her new role and Sue and David are so proud of her. After such a bad start in life, she has developed into a beautiful, loving and characterful dog. It just goes to show what love, care and affection can do.
